I guess it comes with the territory, being a MEGA STAR like Beyonce makes you a target for being put under the microscope in any situation, so it came as no surprise when I watched this video…
When I read the blog post that accompanied it, it made me think “is this really any of our business?” Who cares if she breastfed for 10 days, 10 weeks or 10 months? Is it not a woman’s right as a mother to make this choice for her and her baby without judgement? Also let’s be honest, who hasn’t been happy with the added bonus of weight loss that comes with breastfeeding?! Would it have been better if she said the weight just fell off, I have good genes? At least she was honest.
I think the whole breastfeeding debate is a little out of hand. Let’s support women no matter what path they take. Motherhood is a journey that is best served with a generous amount of friendship, support and often a glass of wine! So let’s be kind to each other ladies.

I signed up to the site ages ago, and up until recently I deleted the daily emails sent to taunt me with fabulous (heavily reduced) designer goodies I was missing out on. Like a good girl i sent these evil little emails to the trash and saved myself the heartache. However one morning I clicked open instead of delete and opened pandoras box on what is now a serious addiction. The most beautiful designer pieces at ridiculously cheap prices. I am saving us so much money! Aren’t I?

There is something so special about this video.
What divine little creatures newborns are. Becoming a Mum for the first time can be so overwhelming, at times we feel out of our depth trying to be the perfect mother or confused listening to conflicting (often unwanted!) advice. This video is a beautiful reminder that all a baby really needs is love and tenderness. It seems like only yesterday we were giving our little angel his first bath, now he’s all charm, cheekiness, grazed knees and grubby hands. They grow too fast!

stop to smell the roses…
This morning I have been thinking… If someone had told me 2 and a half years ago I would have a beautiful baby boy, and the golden retriever I have always wanted, I would’ve thought the worlds problems were solved and I would be walking around with a permanent smile glued to my face.
Fast forward two and a half years and I have all that and more. So I got to thinking, on the days that things are less than peachy (let’s face it, we all have plenty of them) if I took just a minute to stop, be grateful and smell the roses life has given, it wouldn’t take long to see how blessed I am and get things into perspective.
What are you grateful for today? Stop, take a minute to be thankful before you start your day and be sure to smell the roses.

coming up for air…
…. And breath! Phew, what a manic few months of sleep deprivation hell. Our little darling has really put us through the ringer with his nocturnal antics. No amount of the old “this too shall pass” mantra was able to help keep my cool in recent weeks. Those of you who have been there know the chaos that a nocturnal munchkin brings to he house. I am beyond happy to say that things have finally settled down, it seems the sleep fairy has once again visited our household and sprinkled her magic dust on the smallest member of the family. Thank you god!
